Thousands go without power Sunday evening

Updated:

Thousands of people deal with a power outage Sunday evening.
Empire District Electric is restoring power to thousands of homes in the Webb City and Carterville area Sunday evening.
Power went out around 7:45pm.  That's when Webb City pPolice began directing traffic where traffic signals were down  at 13th and Madison  and  also at Oronogo and highway 171.
Just a few residents in northwest Joplin lost power as well.
Empire officials say there was trouble with a transmission line and customers have been rerouted to be restored. Crews are working on the initial transmission line problem.
