Dana Wilhelm named MIAA Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week

Pittsburg State University senior Jessica Macy was named the MIAA Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week Tuesday (Sept. 24).

In her first meet as a Gorilla, Macy raced to the individual title at the MSSU Stampede Saturday (Sept. 21), leading Pittsburg State to a second-place finish among non-NCAA Division I schools at the meet. The Olathe, Kan., native crossed the finish line in the five-kilometer race in 16 minutes, 52.56 seconds, beating her closest Division II competitor by more than 36 seconds as well as beating all 19 Division I athletes in the 170-athlete field.

Macy prepped at Olathe Northwest High School and transferred to Pitt State from DePauw (Ind.) University.
