Carl Junction Bluegrass Festival - KOAM TV 7

Carl Junction Bluegrass Festival

Carl Junction, Missouri residents braved this morning's rain for their annual Bluegrass Festival.  The 16th year for the festival was soggy, but vendors and music lovers still made the best of the day.

Bluegrass bands from all across the state took the stage Monday morning, playing Bluegrass classics.  Vendors brought all sorts of homemade crafts, and of course food.

Organizers say next year, they hope to prepare for the inclement weather a little better.

"What amazed me today was to just see everyone smiling in spite of the rain, people were seated watching the bands with their umbrellas and braving it," says Carl Junction Chamber of Commerce member Gary Stubblefield.

Because of the weather, the festival closed down at 1:30 this afternoon, but organizers say it was still a successful day for those who came out.
