Crop Walk Celebrates Twenty Years


Faith based groups walk to remember those who are going hungry. More than 10 churches in the area participated in the 20th annual crop-walk in Joplin today.

Signs will guided walkers for 2.5 miles around the Joplin area. 2,00 communities nationwide are raising money for the those who are chronically poor in the us and around the world. 

A quarter of the funds raised will got to local charities around Joplin.

"Everything we raise goes around the world but it stays right here in our neighborhood a quarter of its stays and helps agency's that are feeding the hungry right here like layette house children's haven crossline and the salvation army," said organizer Eileen Nichlos.

The remaining funds go to assisting refugees and develop solutions to hunger around the world.
