Neosho unveils new stairs at Big Spring Park

Updated:

The City of Neosho held a rededication a local landmark on Wednesday afternoon.

A ceremony was held to showcase the newly refurbished Big Spring Park steps.

The project included a concrete overlay of the 57 steps and three landings that connect Big Spring Hill with High Street, as well as a new railing on either side of the staircase.

The steps were originally poured in 1923 and replaced a wooden flight that had existed since the 1800's on the same site.

The total cost of the renovation project was close to $46,000.
