Manufacturing Expo held at MSSU - KOAM TV 7

Manufacturing Expo held at MSSU

Updated:

Friday is Manufacturing Day in the state of Missouri, and Joplin students celebrated the day by networking with some professionals in the manufacturing industry.

Area junior high, high school and college students attended the Joplin Region Manufacturing Expo on Friday at MSSU.

The event is put on every year as organizers work to get students involved and educated in one of the nation's leading industries.

Business leaders say it's the perfect opportunity to find new hires.

"We have not only seen them from direct contact and industries that captures information from different ones that are graduating, also, the linkage with the economic development and the school counselors," says Jimmy Story of Missouri Enterprise.

The Joplin Regional Economic Development Alliance was one of the hosts of the event.
