Men's Cross Country finishes 3rd at Chile Pepper Festival

The MissouriSouthern men's cross country team placed third in the collegedivision today at the 2013 Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival hosted by theUniversity of Arkansas.

EricSchott was the Lions top finisher today as he raced through the 8k coursein a time of 25:00.9 and placed 14th in the college division. JakeBenton was the Lions second finished finishing 25th with a time of25:18.4. ColtonWooldridge finished 86th completing the course in 26:21.3.

The nextthree Lions finishers were within a half-a-second of one another as RyanJackson finished 97th in 26:28.9, AdrianTodd finished in 100th in 26:29.1 and AndrewWebster finished 102nd in 26:29.4. Finally, William Rush finished 117thoverall in 26:41.1.

The Lionsfinished with 112 team points, placing third in the college division.Augustana won the team title with 55 points, while West Texas A&M wassecond with 80 points. Southern was third, followed by New MexicoHighlands, Iowa Central CC, Harding, Cameron, Northwest Missouri, TarletonState and Oklahoma Christian round out the top ten. 

The Lionswill be back in action October 12, traveling to Rolla, Mo. to compete in theJackling Jocks Invitational hosted by Missouri S&T.
