Updated:

Residents in McdDonald County, Missouri gather for a local soldier killed during his duty in Iraq. Private First Class Christopher L. Marion of Pineville was killed Wednesday, February 22nd 2006.

Three other soldiers along with Marion were killed when an improvised explosive device detonated near their humvee during patrol operations.

Each year a memorial is held at the McDonald County High School where Marion attended. His father says he wants to welcome other families who has lost a loved one at war.

"I would like to see them come in and join I would like to see them honored too because we all gave up a lot a lot," said Walter Wood, Chris' father.

Marion has 15 siblings. The McDonald County High School ROTC program hosted the event.
