Senator Blunt names new Legislative Director

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED OCTOBER 7, 2013 BY THE OFFICE OF U.S. SENATOR ROY BLUNT (MO.)

Senator Blunt Announces Tracy Henke As New Legislative Director

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) announced today that Tracy Henke will serve as his new Legislative Director. Henke joined Blunt's policy team in June 2013 as Senior Policy Advisor covering issues related to appropriations, budget, and taxes.

A native of Moscow Mills, Mo., Henke graduated from the University of Missouri and previously worked for former U.S. Senators Christopher "Kit" Bond (Mo.) and Jack Danforth (Mo.).

During her time in the executive branch, Henke served at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) under former U.S. Senator and Attorney General John Ashcroft (Mo.). She also worked at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as Assistant Secretary for the Office of Grants and Training.

"Tracy brings extensive public and private sector experience to this position, as well as deep ties and a broad understanding of the unique issues facing Missouri," said Blunt. "I'm glad to have Tracy leading my policy team as we work to confront a number of important challenges in the Senate and in Washington."

After nearly 12 years working on Blunt's policy team, outgoing Legislative Director, Brian Diffell, will join the Washington Tax and Public Policy Group as Senior Vice President in Washington, D.C.

“Brian has been a big part of my legislative team for over a decade, working his way from a junior staffer to an experienced legislative aide,” Blunt continued. “I will miss his leadership and his advice but know he’ll excel in his new role.”
