Disney Named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Pittsburg State University junior linebacker Tyler Disney was named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Defensive Player of the Week Monday (Oct. 7).

Disney (6-1, 214) made 10 tackles, including three behind the line of scrimmage, as the Pitt State defense limited FCS member Abilene Christian to 10 net rushing yards (on 24 carries) and 270 total yards in a 28-20 victory Saturday (Oct. 5).

The Stilwell, Kan., native posted one of the Gorillas four quarterback sacks in the contest and his three TFLs totaled 13 yards.

Disney has made 32 tackles on the season, including a team-leading 3.0 quarterback sacks and 7.0 TFLs as well as a team-best three fumble recoveries.
