Women's Cross Country finishes third at Jackling Jocks Invite

The MissouriSouthern women's cross country team had two runners place in the top ten andsix in the top 27 as the Lions placed third overall at the 2013 Jackling JocksInvite hosted by Missouri S&T today in Rolla. 

DoraEastin placed second overall as she ran the 5k course in a time of18:19.91. AddieMengwasser was tenth with a time of 18:50.32, while Kizzy Kirby and DanaRoberson placed 18th and 19th, wit times of 19:24.86 and 19:26.45,respectively. 

SierraGray placed 21st with a time of 19:28.18, while KaylaBartelsmeyer placed 27th in a time of 19:49.62. KellyJo Roberts was 41st, while JetHovis placed 43rd. 

SouthwestBaptist took the team title with a total of 20 points as the Bearcats had fourrunners in the top five. Drury was second with a total of 68, while the Lionswere third with 70 points. Missouri S&T was fourth, tied with McKendree,while Lindenwood, Lincoln, Arkansas Tech and Webster University, rounded outthe team scores. 

Southern willbe back in action on Oct. 26, taking part in the 2013 MIAA Cross CountryChampionships, held at Pittsburg State.

    The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is working an accident on Highway 66 east of Riverton, Kansas. According to Sheriff Groves, a road construction worker from KDOT was taken to a Joplin hospital with what he believes to be non-life threatening injuries after being electrocuted today (June 22, 2018). Both lanes of traffic are closed while Empire crews make sure the area is safe. The Cherokee County EMS and Galena Fire Department are also on scene. KDOT is working on an ...
