McAuley teacher awarded "Distinguished Teacher of the Year" award from the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau

Mr. Patrick Bromley was awarded the “Distinguished Teacher of the Year” award from the Diocese of Springfield – Cape Girardeau last week at the Diocesan Teachers Meeting in Springfield. This award was received through a nomination by Mr. Gene Koester, principal of McAuley Catholic High School for Mr. Bromley’s professionalism, leadership and creativity. Mr. Koester shared on the nomination form that Mr. Bromley emulates an enthusiasm which is demonstrated through his determination to give as many opportunities as possible for the students for McAuley. His leadership is shown through a wide variety of activities in and out of the classroom, including mentor/internship programs and his role in church programs. Mr. Bromley is creative in a manner which cultivates the cultural response of the 21st century in technology but incorporates the values traditional to his Catholic identity.

Mr. Bromley has been teaching at McAuley for the past four years. Mr. Bromley is the Head of the Business Department and the moderator for the Future Business Leaders of America. Mr. Bromley also coaches many sports at McAuley including JV basketball, cross country and track. Mr. Bromley is very active in his parish church (Sacred Heart of Webb City) as a Eucharistic minister and committee member for church issues. Mr. Bromley has been married for three years to his wife Colleen and they have a four month old daughter named Tatum.
