The Salvation Army Christmas Assistance Sign-Up in SW MO - November 8 deadline

The Salvation Army Christmas Assistance Sign-Up

The Salvation Army of Joplin announces its Christmas Assistance Sign-Up Dates. The Salvation Army will be taking applications for TWO WEEKS to help with the planning and preparation needed to meet all the requests for help this year.

The following dates and times will be for Christmas Assistance Sign-Ups:

Monday, October 28/November 4 ~ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Tuesday, October 29/November 5 ~ 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
Wednesday, October 30/November 6 ~ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Thursday, October 31/November 7 ~ 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
Friday, November 1/November 8 ~ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

All applications will be taken at The Salvation Army located at 320 E. 8th Street, Joplin, Missouri. Anyone seeking assistance must have, Photo ID, Proof of Residency, Proof of Income and Social Security numbers for each member of the household.

We also only serve the following areas: Joplin, Alba, Asbury, Carl Junction, Carterville, Duenweg, La Russell, Neck City, Oronogo, Purcell, Reeds, Sarcoxie, Waco, and Webb City.

    An old boat has become a memorial to honor veterans and is now sitting at Farlington Lake in Crawford County, Kansas. It was donated by Albers Marine in Arma, Kansas to Gary and Evelyn Thurston. Gary is a Vietnam veteran and two of Evelyn's brothers were also veterans. The boat includes a P-O-W logo, American flags and flowers.     The SEK Art Fest moves its fiberglass footballs to a new temporary home. Upon yesterday's discovery that a fourth football was the target of vandalism, committee members took immediate action.They transported 20 of the original 24 footballs to to their new temporary home at the Meadowbrook Mall.The large-scale art works will remain at the mall until October 12th, when the public will have the chance to bid on them during the Pittsburg State homecoming auction.More >>
