Medical Career Fair held at Crowder College

Updated:

Students at Crowder College got the chance to network with some medical industry professionals on Tuesday.

The college hosted it's first ever Medical Career Fair.  The goal of the event was to attract students interested in working in a healthcare setting with professionals in the field.

Event organizers say it's important for students to know all of their options.

"Some of our students are going directly into the workforce rather than transferring on to additional educational facilities so we try to make sure we have those opportunities for them to seek employment," says Casey Owens, Career Services Coordinator.

"Talk to the students about getting their foot in - they may be going to be an RN but if they come to work for our company as a CNA or a CMT, if I like that and you do have good work ethics then I will hire you," says Donna Ogle, Spring River Christian Village.

Sixteen employers attended Tuesday's Career Fair ranging from large hospitals to small skilled nursing facilities.
