Miami, Oklahoma – Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 – The equestrian team from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) is scheduled to host their first official IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) competition this Saturday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. at NEO’s indoor, multipurpose arena. The show is open to the public.

This show is the very first one to be hosted at home since the program’s inception last year.

The competition will host colleges such as Missouri State University, Truman State University, Blackhawk College, Illinois State University, Southern Illinois University, and Northern Illinois University.

“We hope everyone will come out to support us at the show on Saturday. The equestrian team is a unique type of competition and is always enjoyable to watch,” said Head Coach Chelsie Huseman.

NEO boasts a 26 member team this year with three riders in the beginner category, 12 intermediate II riders, four novice riders, six advanced riders, and one open rider. The lone returning open rider is Mandie House (pictured above) who was one of three qualifiers for regionals last year.

NEO officially started the IHSA season at Truman State University in September and took the title of High Point Team.

Currently, NEO is leading the region as a team by six points over Blackhawk College.
