Commerce elementary students celebrate Red Ribbon Week

Commerce, Oklahoma elementary students are celebrating Red Ribbon Week by pledging to be drug and alcohol free.

On Wednesday the students got the chance to see a helicopter flown in by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

Red ribbon week is sponsored by the DARE program to teach students about the dangers of drug use.

"At the elementary level it's a lot of fun, we have a lot of exciting things, and with an important message underlying that," says Angela Brough, a counselor with the school district.

Red Ribbon Week is a yearly event but this is the first year the helicopter touched down at the school.
