Souls Harber continues with kitchen renovation
Souls Harbor in Joplin has received the building permit it needed to renovate its kitchen. Work was halted a few months ago due to an issue with electrical service. It had to be raised form 400 amps to 800 amps.
But now that Souls Harbor has the permit, it can move forward with renovations.
An industrial dishwasher will be put in the kitchen, so they can use real dishes instead of Styrofoam plates. It will also be getting refrigerators, improving the ability to store and prepare food.
The remodel will give the non-profit the chance to expand its services including increasing the number of people that can be served.
The dining hall will also expand and tin ceilings and a front window will be restored to meet city codes.
