Joplin's Children's Haven receives donation towards building project

Updated:

Joplin's Children's Haven organization gets some extra help with its building campaign, thanks to a donation from the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Southwest Missouri.

1 $500 check was presented to Children's Haven.  Today's donation will help Children's Haven continue to construct its new building, which is down the street from its current location.  The group of insurance agents have a special fund to help area children with special needs.

"We have some that financially support us throughout the year, and hand me a $500 check or a $50 bill, or $10, whatever it might be, out of their pocket to put in that fund because we've seen what the difference is.  We know we touch about 150 children's lives a year, at least that many," says Linda Teeter with the NAIFA of Southwest Missouri.

Today's donation will be matched by an anonymous donor.
