2013 Southwest Missouri Election Results

Southwest Missouri residents headed to the polls on Tuesday to vote on a handful of elections.

In Jasper County, residents voted no on a local use sales tax that would have replaced the current out of state sales taxes centering around vehicle sales.

In McDonald County, Noel residents voted against a change to the tax levy.

In Newton County, A levy up for a vote in Neosho passed. It will support the Crowder Industries Workshop, which provides employment and other opportunities for developmentally disabled residents.

In Barry County, Wheaton residents voted in favor of a levy to support the Fire Protection District. It will be set at 30 cents per $100 assessed valuation.

Residents in Wheaton also voted on terms for the Fire Protection District Board of Directors. Larry Prewitt will hold a term of 6 years. Randall Wallace and Dwayne Pettengill will each hold 4 terms. Steve Williams and Nolan McNeill each get 2 terms.
