Career fair in Pittsburg helps students with disabilities focus on their future

A career fair was held Wednesday in Pittsburg aimed at giving students with disabilities a chance to focus on their future.

Crawford and Cherokee County high schoolers gathered at Memorial Auditorium for the fair.

The goal of the annual event is to break down the job hunting process into small steps, focusing on applications, interviews, and searching for jobs.

Students even got the chance to do some mock interviews with local businesses.

"We just kind of rotated the students through each one of the stations so they can become more aware of the different things that you need to be prepared for when you are searching for a job," says Lou Ann Colyer, a Pittsburg SKIL coordinator.

The SKIL Resource Center organized the event.  It's the sixth year the group has put on the career fair.
