Neosho Christmas Parade deadline is November 15

Updated:

POSTED ON BEHALF OF THE NEOSHO AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

“CHRISTMAS NIGHT OF LIGHTS” REMINDER

Neosho’s Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 7th beginning at 5:00 p.m. Registration deadline will continue through Friday, November 15th.

Those planning to participate are asked to get their entry forms in as soon as possible. Remember, there are no entry fees.

According to Shana Griffin of the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce, the theme for this year’s parade is “Christmas Night of Lights”. All floats and commercial entries should be lit. Lighted entries will be judged during the parade. All other entries will be judged during the line-up.

Over 120 entries are expected. Categories for judged entries include civic, business, church and school floats; antique/classic/custom autos; individual, hitched and group horses; performing arts; marching bands and ROTC units. Trophies will be awarded to each first place winner and certificates will be presented to 2nd and 3rd place winners. Trophies will also be presented to the entries chosen for Best Use of Lights, Best Use of Theme and Grand Champion.

The entry deadline is important because completing the line-up is a lengthy and tedious process. We have to allow an adequate amount of time to assign a line-up position to every participant and then to get the confirmation letters to them. It helps us tremendously if people can get their entry forms turned in by the deadline,” said Griffin.

For more information or to request an entry form, call the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce at (417) 451-1925 or info@neoshocc.com.
