NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY MERCY HEALTH

Building a Blanket Fort for a Cause

JOPLIN, MO- Dr. Scott Hamilton and Mercy Hospital Joplin are partnering with Calvary Baptist Church by inviting area families to help in an attempt to break a World's Record. They are going to build the Biggest Blanket Fort, ever, and, it’s all for a great cause. Calvary is asking families to bring a blanket to donate. All blanket donations will be given to the Watered Gardens Mission, to be handed out this winter, in Joplin.

The current record for a blanket fort is 475 feet, in length. Calvary plans to shatter that record, by at least 25 feet! The attempt will be made on Friday, November the 8th at 6pm. The church is turning their whole sanctuary into one big, long blanket fort. Once the fort is completed, kids and families can tour the fort, from start to finish.

For more information, go to calvaryjoplin.com or call the church office at 417-781-1841. The church is located at 600 E. 50th Street, across from the construction of the new Mercy Hospital.
