Hunger Games Joplin Girl Scout Style - KOAM TV 7

Hunger Games Joplin Girl Scout Style

Updated: Nov 9, 2013 06:45 PM

A popular book and movie series gives relevance to skills learned by Joplin area girls scouts as they take part in the Hunger Games.

Activities included face painting, archery, and building a shelter like Katniss in the movie.

Troop leaders say the movie relates to the girls scouts because it involves team work, friendship, and supporting one another.

Scout, Dilyn Hunt says she's read the books and saw the first movie.

"I really like it! I thought well my mom went into girl scouts, and she said it was really fun so it might be cool to incorporate two things in the family that everyone likes," said Hunt.
