Crash halts traffic on US69

A  crash on Highway 69 south of Pittsburg sends two people to the hospital Saturday night.

The  crash  closed the highway around eight o"clock Saturday as emergency crews responded to the two vehicle crash.  It happened  near Pichler's Chicken Annie's restaurant. One car was covered in smoke. 

Two victims were taken to the hospital, one by helicopter. 

At this time its unknown if there are any other injuries. 

The Kansas highway patrol is working the crash and  the cause is unknown at this time.

    Oklahoma weather experts say this spring had the lowest number of tornadoes since 1988. Still one to hit Quapaw was deadly killing one person. Only 13 tornadoes hit Oklahoma through June. Greg Carbin with the storm prediction centers says the states extremely cold winter last year and earlier this year likely kept the number of tornadoes down.More >>

    An old boat has become a memorial to honor veterans and is now sitting at Farlington Lake in Crawford County, Kansas. It was donated by Albers Marine in Arma, Kansas to Gary and Evelyn Thurston. Gary is a Vietnam veteran and two of Evelyn's brothers were also veterans. The boat includes a P-O-W logo, American flags and flowers.
