New SRO, Detective Named

PARSONS, KS — The Parsons Police Department announced today that Detective Neil Springer has been selected to replace Bobby Queen as the new Parsons Middle School Resource Officer. Springer has been with the department for 18 years, he has focused on community policing and youth initiatives during his tenure. Queen left the police department to pursue other opportunities earlier this month.

Springer’s move left an opening in the detective’s division. Corporal Kyle Wiford has been promoted to the Detective position. Wiford has been with the department for the past five years.

According to department officials, testing is occurring for the Corporal position and could be announced as early as the end of the month.

In addition, the Parsons Police Department welcomes J.R. Keene back to the force to fill the vacant patrol position.
