NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE OFFICE OF CONGRESSMAN BILLY LONG (MO.)
Long Supports Bipartisan Effort to Help Americans Impacted by Broken Health Care Promise
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Billy Long voted today in support of the Keep Your Health Plan Act.
“Millions of Americans are sadly finding out that President Obama’s repeated promise if you like your plan you can keep your plan is not true. This common sense legislation is about addressing the concerns hardworking Americans have with the president’s health care law and giving them choices when it comes to their health care options. President Obama should honor the promise he repeatedly made to the American people,” Long said.
Long is an original cosponsor of the Keep Your Health Plan Act. The legislation simply allows for health care plans currently available on the individual market to continue next year, providing millions of Americans whose plans have been cancelled the opportunity to keep their policies in 2014. The legislation also ensures Americans keeping their plans would not face a penalty under the law’s individual mandate.
