Carl Junction dedicates pavilion - KOAM TV 7

Carl Junction dedicates pavilion

Updated:

Carl Junction's pavilion project is finally complete, and today it was donated to the woman who may it all possible.

Jean Roy herself cut the ribbon for the jean Roy pavilion in memorial park this morning. The Carl Junction Cultivators Club along with volunteers all funded the project.

After a setback  from legalities by the division of labor standards on the prevailing wage law - the project was halted.

But volunteers banded together and the project was completed and ready for dedication this week. City officials say getting this project done this year was the ultimate goal.

"The Carl junction cultivators gardeners club started raising funds and realized they needed help, they came to the Chamber of Commerce, we have a beautification fund. Which is thanks to Jean Roy and we were able to donate. Jeff Asbell was a huge contributor. Several people donated and it was built by volunteer labor." Chamber of Commerce President Gary Stubblefield says.

"The volunteers of Carl junction stepped up, and it just shows you how Carl junction is a town that gives and that people give back to one another."  Carl Junction Mayor, Mike Moss says.

The pavilion is equipped with electrical lighting, and will soon have greenery and American flags put up around the perimeter.
