Southern volleyball falls 3-0 at Pittsburg State

PRESS RELEASE MSSU:

The MissouriSouthern volleyball team finished its season today and fell on the road atPittsburg State, three sets to none. Individual set scores were 13-25, 13-25and 17-25. 

The Lions(4-26, 0-15 MIAA) were led offensively by PaytonGraves as she had a team-high six kills. KatiePolitte and KrishnaMerriman had four kills each, while Merriman added nine digs. AbbyFinder dished out 13 assists, while CallieWhetstone and CheyanneCrandall had six and four blocks, respectively. 

PittsburgState (16-15, 6-10 MIAA) was led by Madison Mosier and Abbie Smith with 10 andeight kills, respectively. 

The first setsaw two tied scores and one lead change, while the second set was led by PittState throughout. Set three saw 12 tied scores and three lead changes. 

The Lionsfinish the season with an overall record of 4-26. Katie Politte finished sixthin the MIAA in kills per set with a 3.34 mark, while Abby Finder ranked eighthin the MIAA in assists per set. The team finished third in the MIAA in aces,while the Lions allowed the second-fewest digs per set in league play.
