PSU mourns loss of faculty member

Pittsburg State University lost a member of its family this weekend with the death of longtime faculty member Linda Bitner.

Linda, who passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, was a PSU alumna and had taught in PSU's Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing since 1999.

"We're all in shock today," said President Steve Scott. "Linda was a tremendous role model and mentor for her students but more than that, she was a wonderful person. She had a special kindness about her that we will miss greatly."

Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg.
