NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY DELAWARE COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE

Delaware County Sheriff, Harlan Moore said sheriff’s deputies were sent to an address approximately 4 miles northeast of Jay at 2:33 PM, Sunday, following a 911 call reporting a male who had been shot.

On arrival officers found the body of Donald E. Blevins, 55 of Jay.  He was originally discovered by a family friend who immediately notified the sheriff’s office.

The OSBI was called and sent two (2) agents to the scene.  After obtaining a search warrant for the property, an investigation was conducted at the rural residence Sunday evening and early morning Monday.

Blevins reportedly suffered a single gunshot wound.  His body was sent to the Oklahoma Medical Examiners office who will make a final determination on cause of death.

The OSBI investigation is continuing.
