Child Care Aware hosts open house in Pittsburg

Updated:

Child Care Aware of Eastern Kansas hosts an open house and ribbon cutting Monday afternoon at their new Pittsburg office. The new office located on West 3rd Street will provide training and support services to area child care programs serving kids in southeast Kansas.

Members of the agency say Child Care plays an important role in the economic growth of a community, and it's important for all families to have access to high-quality child care.

"Research clearly shows that what happens in the first five years of a child's life really lays the foundation for how they learn and how successful they are, both in school and then later in life," says Reva Wywadis of Child Care Aware.

The agency currently serves 33 eastern Kansas counties.
