Labette Community College students package meals for Million Meals

Labette Community College partners with Million Meals Kansas to stop hunger now.

LCC is one of many colleges and universities in Kansas to take part in the Million Meals Challenge of feeding school age children.

On Tuesday students packaged more than 10,000 meals in about an hour and a half.

The cost of each meal is only 25-cents - for less than a bottle of water you will feed six people.

"We have the chance as human beings to really reach out and help other human beings if we just take the opportunity to do so," says student life specialist Melissa Nance.

LCC also held a Penny War on campus and raised $1,100 for this fundraiser.
