Law enforcement officers issue a warning in advance of the upcoming holiday weekend. They will be watching.

Traditionally the Thanksgiving weekend kicks off the holiday travel season and is a time when fatalities on roads start to rise.
As the holiday nears - you can expect to see more deputies  on the road too.

The Cherokee County sheriff says the department's annual holiday traffic enforcement campaign will kick off Monday.

More deputies will be on the road  looking out for drivers under the influence.

Sheriff David Groves says before going to holiday events and consuming alcohol,  have a plan. Groves says, "A lot of those events, family get together, friends get together, involve alcohol or can involve alcohol so knowing that,  we want to recommend everyone who does socialize with  with alcohol have a designated driver." The holiday traffic enforcement  campaign will run through December 1st.
