2013 NEO Alumni Recruiting Rodeo results

Miami, Okla. – Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 – This year marked the fourth annual Alumni Recruiting Rodeo for the agriculture department at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO). The rodeo took place on Nov. 23, 2013.

The annual alumni recruiting rodeo hosted 300 students during the rodeo. Students from across the four states traveled to the NEO campus to compete in rodeo events, such as barrel racing, tie down roping, calf roping, breakaway, steer wrestling, goat tying, and team roping.

Buckles were awarded to the high individuals in each division, and the high point overall for the high school division was awarded a two-year tuition scholarship to NEO.

Tie down roping:

Breakaway:

Bareback:

Steer Wrestling:
Alum: Joey Bell – Fairland, Okla.
High school: Zane Leftwich – Winfield, Kan.

Goat Tying:
Alum: Saige Miller – Pleasant Hill, Mo.
High school: Kirbie Crouse – Gallatin, Mo.

Team Roping:
Alum: Cody Heflin – Claremore, Okla.
Buddy Hawkins – Columbus, Kan.
High school: Quinton Inman – Ketchum, Okla.
Shay Walters – Collinsville, Okla.

Barrel Racing:
Alum: Cheyenne King – Wyandotte, Okla.
High school: Cassidy Webster – Auxvasse, Mo.

Bull riding:
Alum: Skyler Sims – Peculiar, Mo.
High school: Wyatt Rogers – Rose, Okla.

Book scholarships:

    The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is working an accident on Highway 66 east of Riverton, Kansas. According to Sheriff Groves, a road construction worker from KDOT was taken to a Joplin hospital with what he believes to be non-life threatening injuries after being electrocuted today (June 22, 2018). Both lanes of traffic are closed while Empire crews make sure the area is safe. The Cherokee County EMS and Galena Fire Department are also on scene. KDOT is working on an ...
