Motorists take advantage of gas prices

Updated:

According to AAA, the average price for gas across Missouri is $2.98, down from $3.15 a year ago.  AAA says Missouri is the only state in the nation with an average gasoline price below $3.00.

We talked with some motorists who are hopeful they'll have some extra spending money this holiday.

"I've never seen anything low like this," says Chicago resident Bryant Venson.  "Definitely, being out here with these gas prices, it makes me want to stay!"

"Gas has definitely been an issue for a lot of people, I think, especially for myself over the last couple of years.  Everybody lives on a budget," says Joplin resident Patrick Brow.

Across the nation, holiday travel or more than 50 miles is expected to decrease by 1.5% from last year.
