Gunshot fired during attempted robbery in Pittsburg

Updated:

On November 27th around 9 PM, Pittsburg POlice Department responded to the Pizza Hut location at 102 East Quincy for a report of a vehicle striking the building.

Upon arrival a man told officers he had been at McDonald's prior to the accident when an unknown male entered his vehicle, showed a handgun and demanded everything the man had.

The unknown male then struck the victim in the head with the firearm, and shot him in the arm, which caused his arm to shift his vehicle out of gear. The vehicle rolled across the street, striking the Pizza Hut location.

After surveying the scene, officers located a 9 mm handgun, and a controlled substance presumed to be crack cocaine behind the Pizza Hut.

Officers later arrested a 22 year old male on charges of aggravated attempted robbery, aggravated battery, and felony obstruction.

The victim was transported to Via Christi Hospital and was treated and released for a minor gunshot wound.
