Christmas is the time for giving and on Friday police from Galena, Kansas stood on 7th Street to collect toys.
The event from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Officers say they do this to get a heart warming reaction from children.
"It's all the kids, it's the enjoyment that we get when the kids actually get to receive a toy for Christmas - some are less fortunate we really try to make them have a very very good Christmas," says Sgt. Robert Hughes of the Galena Police Department. "The toys are nice for the kids that don't have the opportunity to have toys. It really makes a big difference."
Police say their giving also helps kids have a friendly relationship with law enforcement workers.
