Holiday Homes Tour in Galena features event center

Updated:

Galena residents welcome the public into their homes for a  holiday homes tour.
Six homes are featured in the tour showing off holiday decorations. The tour is put together by  the Galena Economic Development Committee and the city's Chamber of Commerce.

One home on the tour is the Grace House Event Center built in 1890 - by attorney and mine owner William Sapp.

In 1959 Jack and Grace Deardorff purchased the home.

Since  then Jack and Grace's son and daughter in law renovated and restored the home for public use.

Kay Deardorff says, "Tourism is a really big thing right now so  people are finding out about us. We have over two thousand travelers, foreign travelers travel through this little bitty town every year.

Tickets cost six dollars to view inside all six homes.
On Sunday homes will be open from 1 until 4 p.m.
You can purchases tickets at Cars on the Route - Streetcar Station and  the homes on the tour.
Other homes on the tour include the homes of  Bill and Judy Hall, Jimmy and Brenda Adams "Mccullagh Home erected in 1886", Derek and Amy Hunt's 19th century home, and the Galena Bordello.
