Southwest Missouri man arrested and charged with murder

Updated December 11, 2013 at 4:40 p.m. - A Southwest Missouri man is behind bars tonight, charged in the murder of his wife.

54-year-old David Holman from La Russell, Missouri is now charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action.

On Monday evening, Lawrence County sheriff's deputies responded to Holman's home where they found 55-year-old, Radonna, suffering from a gunshot wound.  She died on scene.

Authorities say Holman had called 911 to report the shooting.  He told deputies that his wife shot him first with her gun, then he shot her with his.

David Holman does have a gunshot wound in the left arm, but investigators say the evidence does not match his story.

Homicide Victim's Identity Released

The identity of the victim has been released in the homicide investigation in Lawrence County.

Radonna L. Roland/Holman, 55 years old of La Russell has been identified as the deceased. She is believed to be the wife of the suspect David Holman who has been charged in her death with 1st Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action.

Subject in Custody and Charged with 1st Degree Murder after incident

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of possible shots fired on the evening hours of Monday December 9, 2013 in Western Lawrence County.

Deputies along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrived on scene to find a female with what appeared to be a gunshot would laying on a bed in the residence. Deputies attempted life saving actions but were unsuccessful.

Taken into custody at the scene was a male who was believed to have made the 911 call reporting the shooting. An investigation has been on going since the incident and late Tuesday evening charges were filed in the case.

David K. Holman, age 54 of rural La Russell has been formally charged with 1st Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action. He is currently in custody at the Lawrence County Jail awaiting arraignment and being held without bond.

The case is still under investigation. The victims info has not been released pending notification of family members.
