MIAA men's basketball looks to week six

Many teams will stepoutside of league play as MIAA men's basketball moves into week six.

Upcoming MIAA Previews:
Central Missouri closes out three game homestand
Last Week: 12/5 d. FHSU 93-85 OT    12/8 d. MacMurray 88-58
Upcoming: 12/16 vs. Culver Stockton 7 p.m.
Central Missouri will step outside of the league to face Culver-Stockton inweek six. The Mules are paced by Dillon Deck who is averaging 12.0 points and6.0 rebounds per contest. Daylen Robinson and Kyle Wolf are each averaging 11.2points per contest this season.

Central Oklahoma awaits week seven
Last Week: 12/5 l. to LWU 88-77   12/7 d. LU 90-71
Upcoming: Next 12/19 vs. UCM 7:30 p.m.
Central Oklahoma will take a break and wait for week seven and return to leagueplay. The Bronchos are led by Josh Gibbs who is averaging a double-double with21.2 points and 13.8 rebounds per game. Seth Heckert is averaging 12.0 pointsand Aaron Anderson and Cal Andrews each averaging 10.9 points per contest.

Emporia State steps outside of league play
Last Week: 12/7 l. to NWMSU 89-68
Upcoming: 12/15 vs. Newman 3 p.m.
Emporia State will face Newman at home in week six before returning to leagueplay in week seven. The Hornets are led by Kaleb Wright who is averaging 14.3points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Terrence Moore is averaging 12.6 points andGavin Brown a team best 6.5 rebounds per contest.

Fort Hays State looks to bounce back
Last Week: 12/5 l. to UCM 93-85 OT   12/7 l. to MWSU 82-79 OT
Upcoming: 12/14 vs. Central Christian 4 p.m.
Fort Hays State will look to bounce back from two overtime losses in week six.The Tigers are led by Dwayne Brunson who is averaging 18.8 points and 9.3rebounds per game. Craig Nicholson is averaging 16.3 and Carson Konrade 14.8points per game.

Lincoln hits the road in league play 
Last Week: 12/5 l. to NSU 87-72    12/7 l. to UCO 90-71 
Upcoming: 12/14 at UNK 7:30 p.m.
Lincoln will travel to Nebraska-Kearney as they look to bounce back in leagueplay. The Blue Tigers are led by Mike Smith who is averaging 16.2 points andClay Crouch with 14.6 points per game. Joshua Buie is averaging 13.4 points percontest this season.

Lindenwood closes out long homestand

Lindenwood Lindenwood will step outside of league play for two during week six.The Lions are led by Tyler Ressel with 14.7 points and Darris Smith with 14.1points per game. Brandon Marquardt is averaging 10.0 points per contest thisseason.

Missouri Southern looks to extend winning steak

Missouri Southern puts their five game winning streak to the test againstArkanasas Tech. The Lions are led by Marquis Addison who  averages 16.9points per game. Jordan Talbert is averaging 12.1 points and 7.3 rebounds andSlim Magee averages 12.1 points per game.

Missouri Western awaits week seven

Missouri Western will take the week off before hitting the road to continueMIAA play. The Griffons are led by Cortrez Colbert who is averaging 14.9 pointsand Ryan Devers who is averaging 14.7 points per game.

Nebraska-Kearney continue MIAA schedule
Last Week: 12/5 l. to MSSU 99-79    12/7 l. to SBU 96-93
Upcoming: 12/12 vs. Bellevue 7 p.m.    12/14 vs. LU 7:30 p.m.
Nebraska-Kearney will face Lincoln as they continue their MIAA schedule in weeksix. The Lopers are led Connor Beranek who is averaging 21.1 points and 5.8rebounds per game. Tyler Shields is averaging 14.0 points and Davion Pearson11.7 points per contest.

Northeastern State starts MIAA play on the road
Last Week: 12/5 d. LU 87-72    12/7 d. LWU 83-74
Upcoming: Next 12/19 vs. MWSU 5:30 p.m.
Northeastern State will take the week of before their MIAA home opener in weekseven. The RiverHawks are led by MIAA Athlete of the Week Bryton Hobbs who isaveraging 24.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

Northwest Missouri steps outside the league
Last Week: 12/5 d. PSU 75-59    12/7 d. ESU 89-68
Upcoming: 12/16 vs. Waldorf College 7 p.m.
Northwest Missouri will face Waldorf as they step outside league play. DillonStarzl leads the way for the Bearcats averaging 16.6 points and 5.6 boards pergame. Grant Cozad is averaging 11.8 points per contest.

Pittsburg State waits for week seven
Last Week: 12/5 . to NWMSU 75-57
Upcoming: Next 12/18 vs.West Texas A&M 4:30 p.m.
Pittsburg State will face West Texas A&M after taking a week off. For theGorillas Devon Branch is averaging 20.5 points and 5.0 rebounds and JakeBullard is averaging 16.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.

Southwest Baptist steps outside the league 
Last Week: 12/5 l. to #22 WU 89-87   12/7 d. UNK 96-93 
Upcoming:  12/14 vs. William Jewell 7:30 p.m.
Southwest Baptist will step outside the league in week number six. The Bearcatsare led by Rashaad Brown-Peterson who is averaging 18.9 points and Desi Barmorewith 17.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest.

Washburn awaits MIAA home opener

Upcoming: Next 12/19 vs. LU 7:30 p.m.
Washburn will take the week off before their MIAA home opener.  TheIchabods are led by Kyle Wiggins who is averaging 15.4 points per game. AlexNorth is averaging 14.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest as well.
