Charges filed against three teens custody after armed robbery in parking lot of Joplin mall

Updated December 12, 2013 at 4:40 p.m. - Charges have been filed against three teens accused of robbing a woman in the parking lot of the Northpark Mall on Wednesday.

17-year-old Brock A. Buffington of Joplin, 17-year-old Zachary T. Jones of rural Joplin, and 19-year-old Trevor M. Seigrist of rural Joplin, have all been charged with first degree robbery and armed criminal action.

 

Posted December 12, 2013 at 11:14 a.m. - Two 17 year old's and one 19 year old have been taken into custody after a woman reported an armed robbery in the parking lot of Northpark Mall.

Joplin Police say the incident occurred Wednesday night at about 7:50 p.m.  The woman says she was getting out of her vehicle when she was approached from behind and the male demanded her purse.  The suspect then displayed a handgun.

After the victim surrendered her purse, the suspect got into a pick-up and left the area.

The vehicle's description was giving to law enforcement and was later located in Webb City.

Three individuals in the vehicle were taken into custody.

As of 11:00 a.m. Thursday, charges had not yet been filed against the suspects.
