Donations extremely low; Joplin Salvation Army says struggling to meet Christmas goals

Updated:

POSTED ON BEHALF OF THE JOPLIN SALVATION ARMY

The Salvation Army of Joplin is in desperate need of monetary donations this Christmas season. Donations are extremely low this year and we are struggling to meet our Christmas goal. With only two weeks left until Christmas we are less than halfway to our Christmas season goal. The Salvation Army helps hundreds of families each year in the community, families that would otherwise not be able to provide Christmas for their families. This assistance includes Christmas gifts and a Christmas basket full of fresh food. All this is possible with the help and support of the community. And we could use it now more than ever.

Since 1865 The Salvation Army has been serving the Joplin area. The Salvation Army was founded on the basis of “soup, soap, and salvation”. We strive to meet physical and spiritual needs before all else. Every Christmas we sign up close to 1,000 families for Christmas assistance. This could not be done without our donors and faithful volunteers. Each and every dollar donated to The Salvation Army of Joplin stays in Joplin. Please help us support these families during their time of need.
