Press Release PSU:

Eight members of the Pittsburg State University football team earned All-Super Region Three honors from the Don Hansen Football Committee Friday (Dec. 13).

Senior John Brown was named the Super Region Three Special Teams Player of the Year for a second straight season. He garnered first-team All-Region honors at wide receiver as well as return specialist. Senior linebacker Nate Dreiling also received first-team All-Region honors.

Sophomore running back Jeff Seybold, Jr. and senior offensive tackle Cody Holland landed on the second-team All-Region offensive squad, while sophomore defensive lineman Taye Irvin and junior linebacker Tyler Disney were recognized on the second-team All-Region defensive unit.

Senior defensive end Joe Uzzel and junior safety Keeston Terry garnered third-team All-Region accolades.

The first-team and second-team All-Region selections advance to a national ballot from which the 2013 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America team will be named in January.

He also rushed the ball 17 times for 100 yards (5.9 ypc) and two touchdowns. Brown also averaged 32.4 yards per kickoff return with one touchdown and he averaged 11.5 yards per punt return on the season.

Dreiling, a Hutchinson/Victoria, Kan., native, recorded a team-leading 109 tackles (38 solo) with 9.5 tackles-for-loss, four pass breakups and one interception. He finished his career with 491 tackles, setting the MIAA record for career stops and placing third on the NCAA Division II record list for career tackles.

The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of long-time small college football advocate Don Hansen, who passed away at age 75 on Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Ill., started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988.  Don Hansen's Football Gazette began selecting Division II All-Region squads in 2003.
