Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 44 Claims Life of Joplin Man

A Joplin man is dead after a multi-vehicle pile up on Interstate 44 Friday near Halltown.
44 year old Matt Cozad died when his Chevy corvette was hit from behind by a tractor trailer truck which pushed his vehicle into a Toyota Camry.  

The crashes occurred Friday near 5:00 PM as traffic was slowing or stopped due to another accident on west bound 44.  Cozad's 11 year old son suffered minor injuries.  
Altogether seven  vehicles were involved in the crash. The truck driver, 44 year old Julian Ragellie out of California was tested for alcohol. It was not deemed a factor in the crash.  
Officials have not indicated if that driver will be sited for the crash.
