Updated:

Press Release PSU:

Pittsburg State University senior linebacker Nate Dreiling secured his place in history as the second position player in school history to garner All-America honors in all four seasons Thursday (Dec. 19) when he was named to the first-team defense on the 2013 Daktronics Division II All-America Team.

Senior John Brown also earned second-team All-America honors from Daktronics as a return specialist.

Dreiling joins defensive tackle Aaron McConnell (2000-03) and punter Brian Moorman (1995-98) as the school's only four-time All-Americans.

A Hutchinson/Victoria, Kan., native, Dreiling recorded a team-leading 109 tackles (38 solo) with 9.5 tackles-for-loss, four pass breakups and one interception on the season for the Gorillas. The 2011 NCAA Division II National Defensive Player of the Year, Dreiling finished his career with 491 tackles. He set the MIAA record for career stops and placed third on the NCAA Division II record list for career tackles.

Dreiling also is a national finalist for the inaugural Cliff Harris Award, which will be bestowed on the Small College Defensive Player of the Year.

Brown, a Homestead, Fla., native, caught 61 passes for 1,198 yards (19.6 ypc, 99.8 ypg) and 14 touchdowns during his senior campaign.
