Joplin Rescue Mission leader elected for National Board

Local Rescue Mission Leader Elected for National Board

Co-founder and executive director of Joplin’s Watered Gardens Rescue Mission, James Whitford, was recently elected a board member to the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM), a century old national network of more than 300 rescue missions that provides more than 50 million meals, 20 million nights of shelter and graduates more than 18,000 men and women from addiction recovery programs every year.

James will represent the North Central District, one of the Association’s nine national districts.

Responding to this news, James remarked, “It was an honor to be nominated and a surprise to be elected. Certainly, this opportunity is directly linked to the incredible community support of our own rescue mission and its growth and success in rescuing and changing lives over the last thirteen years.”

Whitford’s three year term begins January 1, 2014. More about the AGRM can be found at www.agrm.org
