Wyandotte family loses home and belongings in fire

A northeastern Oklahoma family of five loses their home and all their belongings in a fire.

The fire completely engulfed the home Thursday on 140 Road in rural Wyandotte.

The homeowners, Darian and Dana Briane Douthit, and their three-children were not home at the time of the fire.

The Wyandotte, Fairland and Quapaw Tribal fire departments all responded.

Officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation but it is believed to possibly be the result of an electrical wire shortage.

Red Cross is assisting the family with immediate needs but they are still in need of donations.

A fund has been set up at First National Bank in Miami for those who wish to help.  Donations can be made to the Darian and Dana Briane Douthit account.
