Girl Scouts Kick Off Cookie Sales with Eating Competition

The annual Girl Scout  Cookie Crunch-Off gets things going for area girl scouts cookie sales.
Held at MSSU Saturday afternoon, the crunch-off is a relay race cookie eating contest. Scouts had their own competition first.
Then adult teams from businesses and media outlets including ours from KOAM and FOX14 competed. Each participant must quickly eat  a plate full of  eight girl scout cookies representing each variety sold. Troop leaders   say there's lots  of  lessons girls learn through cookie sales.
"We're teaching them business skills decision making skills time management money management they have to be responsible for taking orders they have to speak with customers and follow through go back and tell them thank you - keep track of all this money and set goals for themselves," said Jamie Dworaczyk, a Girl Scout council representative.

KOAM morning anchor  Tawnya Bach, Fox 14 weekend anchor  Stacey Lindsey, KOAM weekend anchor Lisa Olliges and her daughter, Miranda were on the station team coming in a close second to the winners from General Mills.
It's a fun competition that often gets messy.  Girl Scout cookie sales are now underway.
