EXPERT TIPS FOR CARS STUCK IN SNOW

Updated:

Despite harsh conditions, many people still have to travel on the road. In this instance, it is common for vehicles to get stuck while parked or driving.

In these occurrences, towing officials recommend taking your time to get out of the snow. Do not rev your engine and be sure to keep your steering wheel straight. If necessary, gently rock your car to gain some momentum to ease out. If you have someone with you, have he or she watch your tires as you step on the gas.

"If there is someone outside of your vehicle, let them watch your tires and make sure that they are not spinning," said James Bean of Bean's Towing in Southeast Kansas. "You don't want to spin. That's the biggest thing, you don't want to spin or spin your vehicles down."

Also, towing officials recommend investing in good quality tires if you plan to drive a lot during the winter months.
