Posted January 7, 2014 at 3:07 PM:  Parsons Schools Superintendent Dr. Shelly Martin tells us earlier today they received a call from Parsons Police department about an incident near one of the schools.  As a precautionary manner the superintendent's office contacted all schools in the district to lock exterior doors.

Dr. Martin says that it was not long and it did not interrupt students day.

Dr. Martin says that student safety is their number priority.  She also added that the schools only leave one exterior door unlocked so it did not take long to lock down the schools.

The Parsons Police Department confirmed they are investigating an incident but are not releasing any details at this time.
